Dining with Diabetes is a four-part,
research-based Extension education program for adults who have been
diagnosed
with pre-diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, are at risk for developing
diabetes and
caregivers, family members and support persons. This program will help
you
learn the skills needed to promote good health. We will discuss the
value of
meal planning and portion control.Carbohydrate counting and label
reading skills will be reviewed.Cooking demonstrations and recipes will
be
shared as well as healthy ingredient swaps. Strategies for eating out
and for
preparing simple meals at home will be shared.Connect with others who
are living with
diabetes.Ideas for setting SMART goals
such as staying more physically active at this time of year will also
be
discussed.
