Free Event – Pre-registration required
To make your farm a safer place to work, Cornell Cooperative Extension Albany County is sponsoring a meeting on farm safety & funding that is available to help improve safety features on your property.
Agriculture is the most hazardous industry in the nation. Farmers perform chores which pose threats to their health and safety every day. Tractor rollovers, pto entanglements, animal handling, and highway accidents are some of the leading causes of injuries.
The New York Center for Agriculture Medicine and Health (NYCAMH) will be discussing safety on the farm and the John May Farm Safety Fund. This fund will provide up to 50% of the cost to upgrade safety features on your farm, up to $5,000. Such things as animal handling facilities, rollover protection, electrical work, and much more can be covered. Plan on attending to learn how to apply for this funding.
*Pre-registration is required by March 7th*
